WRA is the only association in Washington formed to advocate the unique needs and concerns of the Retail Industry on state legislative and regulatory issues. Members are busy and do not monitor the legislature and state agencies. The most important service WRA offers our members is political influence.  Legislative and regulatory activity is the Number One Priority of the Washington Retail Association’s staff and lobbyists.

WRA staff and lobbyists are proven, effective advocates
for the retail industry - continuously working on issues to protect and enhance the retail industry in Washington.

WRA works on the issues you care about
– taxes, employment law, advertising regulations, health care, wage and hour issues, credit, loss prevention and much, much more.

WRA carefully and diligently monitors all legislative and regulatory agencies within state government; analyzes nearly 2000 bills each legislative session that may have an impact on your company; alerts you to the latest developments; and always
seeks input from its membership.

WRA works effectively with the legislature, the Governor’s office and state agencies to ensure retail interests are heard.  Staff, lobbyists and members testify before legislative committees, serve on work groups and task forces to shape public policy and draft legislation.

WRA offers strength in numbers.  WRA’s excellent grassroots network combines the efforts of main street retailers and national chains to present a united retail industry.  To enhance this strength, WRA is affiliated nationally
with Retail Industry Leaders Assoc., National Retail Federation, Food Marketing Institute, National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the Council of  State Retail Assoc. Executives. Through these partnerships, WRA members have a vital link to Congress and national trends that occur in state legislatures.

WRA provides a variety of valuable publications
